Because it is made from high density polyethelene recycled plastic, (poly lumber or sometimes called polywood) this bench will not splinter or wood rot. No need to stain or paint as the color is in the poly lumber. Colors will not fade and are stain resistant. They can be cleaned with regular household cleaners.
